Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th of November 2007.
The annual Full-Moon / Rice Harvest festival (Om Bok) at Wat Kampong Tralach is held at the same time as the Water Festival in Phnom Penh. Several thousand local people descend on the wat for 2 nights of partying and music, ceremonies and games. At the stroke of midnight on the first night, everything stops and prayers are offered for the next rice harvest.
If you have seen the Water Festival and would like to see something a little different, their doors are open to all. Together with a table-full of seafood and a chillout in Kep, this makes for a good long weekend away from a busy PP.
(This is not a Thai beach bum backpacker's full moon party).
The location.
