I got tagged: What's in Your Bag?
My apologies to Era of Permanence in Change.
I got hold of her tag two Wednesdays ago, just as I was preparing to leave town again for another fieldwork. I promised her I would do it but I was delinquent on this one because of the many other things - all screaming at me to be completed at the same time.
Anyways, dear Era... here it is... huli man daw at magaling... huli pa rin! Ngyahahahaha.
There were loads of stuffs in my bag, especially that I was leaving town at the time I was asked to reveal what's in it:
1. Backpack for the laptop (and everything else!)
2. Camera and camera bag
3. Eyeglass case
4. Organizer
5. Wallet
6. Mobile phone
7. Laptop (partly covered)
8. USB Flashdisk
9. Laptop charger
10. Mouse
11. Batteries
12. Battery-operated (mini) fan
13. Flashlight
14. Revlon Just-Bitten lip color
15. Pens
16. DVDs
17. House-keys
18. Virgin Mary of the Lourdes, a present that R brought from Lourdes, France while he was on a cycling trip of Europe
19. Cross prayer, from my mother
Other miscellaneous items, like toiletries, clothes and other stuffs were in my other bag. I know, friends and colleagues kid me about this habit of mine, carrying my whole house in my bag. But I do get bored or I don't fall asleep easily when I am away from home (especially on the first nights) so I bring with me DVDs to lull me to sleep. I used to bring hankies, too, but stopped doing so because I lose them all the time. Natak-an na ko sige bakal bag-o. I got too frustrated buying new hankies to replace the lost ones, only to lose them again. Anyways, on ordinary workdays, I just bring with me items #2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 15, 17; items 18 & 19 are permanently lodged in my bag.
Thanks, Era, for asking me to be a part of this fun tag!
I have always been curious to know what people carry in their bags... so now I am forwarding this to the following ladies:
* Ate Vicki
* Garf
* Lucille
and to anyone who'd like to grab and do this fun tag, please do so!!
An Open Invitation
Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th of November 2007.
The annual Full-Moon / Rice Harvest festival (Om Bok) at Wat Kampong Tralach is held at the same time as the Water Festival in Phnom Penh. Several thousand local people descend on the wat for 2 nights of partying and music, ceremonies and games. At the stroke of midnight on the first night, everything stops and prayers are offered for the next rice harvest.
If you have seen the Water Festival and would like to see something a little different, their doors are open to all. Together with a table-full of seafood and a chillout in Kep, this makes for a good long weekend away from a busy PP.
(This is not a Thai beach bum backpacker's full moon party).
The location.

P.S. We were there last year and oh, what fun we had!

Photo Hunt # 3 - Classic
I'm back for the Saturday photo-hunt and this is my entry for this week's hunt for something classic:
I'm not quite sure if the photo belongs to the classic category - but just because it is old so I am posting it. *lol*
That's me (right) and my younger sister, taken during the 80s in Manila. A weather-beaten photo I found stashed in my files, the photo reminds me of our childhood in Manila. When we were little, my father used to travel a lot as a salesman. He's been all over the country to, well, make sales calls and close deals. At that time there were only two of us, and on weekends, my mother would take us to the Manila Zoo, Luneta Park, Araneta Center, Quad (in Makati), Baclaran, Divisioria, etc. almost every weekend.
Notice that I wore a skirt while my sister in shorts? At that time, my father wanted a son so much that when my younger sister was born, he brought her (my sister)up like a boy... and thus the clothes, the toys, and the haircut. And oh, how she looked and acted the part!*lol*
Peace, sister. :D

Tra-la-la-la-la
* I’m still buried under tons of paper works – minutes of meetings, second technical report, monthly progress report, Kep baseline report, presentation for next week’s IDRC workshop in Siem Reap – and very much at the edge of my sanity! No amount of green tea can soothe my nerves nowadays.
* Maybe this explains my anxiety attacks since Wednesday and my sleep-talk last night.
* Which leads me to hope that the anxiety goes away if I am to do a presentation Monday after next.
* Speaking of which, I have been planning for my outfit for that big day.
* Nothing fancy… something presentable. (Mukhang-tao ba)
* Because I have outgrown most of my decent clothes.
* Which is a nicer way of saying “my clothes don’t fit me anymore”.
* Because I had gained a lot of weight.
* And it’s because R had been baking/cooking like there’s no tomorrow.
* Which made me eat non-stop. Sayang, e.
* And all the carbs went down to my hips and thighs.
* My arms are now like jumbo sausages, any minute now they are going to explode.
* Echos lang. Of course, I am exaggerating again.
* So I have attempted to diet and avoid sinful food.
* But still I couldn’t help but think of food.
* Especially when I am this stressed at work.
* Gee, I could really use a break.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Cross posted to Sreisaat, too.
